Patches and I were sitting out on the back porch when she asked to have her picture taken. I call this, “‘Meow’ Means I’m Beautiful in Catonese.”

Political Potpourri

Alotfromlydia puts a lot of pieces on the table in this one. Good stuff here.

Picture if you will a pot simmering on a cast iron stove, filled with various fragrant blossoms each of which is a political occurrence. They’re all different, but they all smell…nice? That’s what I’ve made for breakfast, ingredients via mainstream news (aka fake news), and predictions on Twitter by those who seem to be in the know. This fog of pollen in the Washington air seems to be the result of Donald Trump’s unpopular decision to fire FBI director James Comey. He kicked the beehivewith that clumsy move.
Today’s blooms:

  • A frenzy of activity in Virginia: FBI agents obtaining dozens of warrants, multiple US Marshals and their vans frantically doing official looking things. (I’m not a reporter.)
  • FBI and NYPD Joint Organized Crime Task Force arrested ten men in New York City, charging each with running a racketeering conspiracy as part of an organized crime effort. These men and…

Thanks to my Fitbit I’m just four pounds shy of my pre-Ireland trip weight loss goal. I’m not sure if the Irish will fully appreciate the lengths to which I’ve gone for my visit to their fair shores, but Fitbit seems proud of my efforts.

Just a couple of days ago the fine folks at Fitbit awarded me this prestigious badge. I’ve walked 1,600 miles since slapping the precocious pedometer on my wrist, a total equal to the length of Australia’s The Great Barrier Reef. Perhaps Studly and I should visit down under instead of Ireland.

Peace, people.

I took this photo awhile back. My neighbor, Linda, and I, along with her cousin, drove to Apalachicola one Sunday for an arts show. It was a great time, but I uploaded the photos to my cloud account and promptly forgot about them. I call this one, “Beautiful Linda, Better Late Than Never!”

That Would be Me in the Middle.

Collapsing

We were so naive before the fall, having watched distant states dissolving from the safety of our

Shores. We sent thoughts, and prayers, and dollar bills, tsk tsking all the while. Nothing, though prepared us

For the shattering collapse, the heads rolling through the hallowed halls, their whispered names

On everybody’s lips. Perhaps those far flung states will reciprocate and send their thoughts, and prayers,

Coins of all the realms, as we resist the tide of tyranny with voices and with votes. Maybe it’s not too late.

This one was taken today at the mall food court. I’ve titled it, “Willpower Suffers in the Face of a Chewy Pecan Supreme Cookie.” I was going to take a picture of the cookie, but it disappeared. Like magic.

Today is Another Good Day Not to be Donald Trump

A big thank you to alotfromlydia.wordpress.com for excellent work.

Common sense tells you- when you can’t take the heat in kitchen, you throw out the microwave…because it’s surveilling you.

09 May, 2017, Donald Trump fires FBI director James Comey, who is actively investigating Trump’s financial ties to Russia.

Does this firing make my ass look guilty? No the treason makes your ass look guilty.

Also on 09 May, President Donald Trump sends a certified letter to Sen. Lindsey Graham attesting that the president has no connections to Russia…Since it’s a certified letter, can we stop the investigation?

Richard Nixon was brought down by the coverup of a crime, not the crime.

As I’ve said, regardless of the size of his clown shoes, Trump is following in Nixon’s footsteps.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov says firing of James Comey is a “strictly domestic affair” that will not affect the US-Russia relationship. Hmm…
Today Trump himself is due to meet Russian…

Still Waters

Still Waters
by Leslie Noyes

Somber is this lake,
Now ponderous and heavy;
Egrets sleep in shade.

The weight of water,
Unbearably burdensome,
Lulls the unwary.

Still, mosquitos buzz,
Challenging the status quo,
Daring lake to move
