Guns in Church

Will we take our guns to church now?

Jesus take the wheel, but leave me my pistol

Dylan Roof opened fire in a South Carolina prayer meeting

Now more dead occupy the pews in Texas

Just wondering which firearm goes best with Psalms.

Yea, tho I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I shall fear no evil,

For I am armed with a semi-automatic weapon.

No doubt lawmakers will offer meaningless thoughts and prayers

Their mantra sounding weaker by the hour

Who will answer for these deaths?

Who will offer a solution?

      1. There is such a deep divide over this in my country. Obviously we must change, but our gun lobby is so powerful and the myth of the John Wayne guy with a gun so intertwined with white America, that I fear only a revolution would change things.

      2. That’s a shame Leslie. I was thinking about the whole issue of guns. The only time I might want one would be if we were being invaded. Then again, we don’t have guns here in the UK, yet ‘acid attacks’ are well and truly on the up. I call them our substitute guns. I guess humans will be humans!

      3. Indeed, people will always be what they are and find ways to hurt and kill one another. This does not excuse making it easier by making powerful weapons available to anybody.
