Pros and Cons

On Monday morning I have to have a little PROcedure. And honestly, even though I have a bit of anxiety about it, I’m enormously relieved that it’s not a CONcedure, or worse yet, an AMATEURcedure.

Cats and Tongues

Cat got your tongue? he asked.

That’s the stupidest question ever
, I replied

Cats have no need for human tongues and such, but they might have my yarn.

Cats love yarn.

Morning After

Loved this song when I first heard Maureen McGovern sing it in The Poseidon Adventure. Now, it holds a deeper meaning with trump in the White House.

A Wink and a Prayer

Lead me not into temptation,

Refrain from encouraging my slide

Into passages of wild abandon

With a subtle wink and nod.

Hold me to much higher standards

Than those to which you subscribe

Hypocrisy is all the rage, my dear

Executive orders well describe.

Sauce for the goose, gold for the gander

Don’t let them catch you weeping

Heads we lose; tails we’ve lost

Prayers are all past keeping.

Little Rivers

Torrents of mid-winter rain drown fallen leaves of oak, carrying the lucky ones Downhill

On shimmering ad hoc rivers until they meet on the banks of a temporary lake. Golden clumps

Cluster forlornly in pre-spring purgatory awaiting the salvation of rake and wheelbarrow.

Snapshot #100!

I’ve never claimed to be a professional photographer, roaming around with my trusty iPhone and snapping anything that catches my eye. Today’s snapshot, my 100th, is evidence of my lack of skills; however, I couldn’t resist asking this inscect if he’d “Bee My Only 1(00).”

He was really digging into this tasty flower, so he never answered. I took his silence as affirmation.

Peace and pollen, people!

No

I lost the answer
Never mind the question asked
I’m positive now

Seek affirmation
If it makes you feel complete,
Yet “no” is freeing

Nyet, nein, I forget
Foreign words all feel the same
Like two negatives

Weather App Madness

It’s hard to disagree with this logic. The WTForecast app has a unique way of delivering weather updates.

Snapshot #99

I took this the night before I came down with my head cold and had almost forgotten about it. My friend tells me this is a Japanese Magnolia, so I call it “Japanese Magnolia.” So much for originality.
