The Case of the Missing Mary

I opened up the Christmas closet on Wednesday and started my annual decorating routine. The tree is up and looking all spiffy with baubles old and new adorning its branches. Best of all, the Nativity scene is perfect this year with all the figurines present and accounted for—unlike a certain year in which a major player went missing. A year I chronicled in the heartwarming tale of The Case of the Missing Mary.

So grab that bottle of whiskey from your desk drawer, pour yourself a stiff drink, sit back, and relax.

  1. I love your story with the Guy Noir air to it. I think if you are truly missing one member of the Nativity cast ever Christmas, you should suspect that Studley is the responsible prankster.

      1. Could be. Our goldfish went missing, vanished, and I found her dried skeleton under the china hutch when we moved, right where our kitty hid her.

  2. I remember that one. Well I ahve a a wee set that goes on the tree and I ahve had a few sets down the years and generally it;s been Joseph that was missing from these. But this year the three of them have plain cleared off.
