We’ve watched this little one grow from a teeny tiny creature into the two-inch long beauty he/she is now.

Our banana spider, Octavia/o, lives out their life protecting us from pesky insects, and for that we are eternally grateful.

My only wishes are that I could be a better photographer or she/he more photogenic, and that I’d taken pictures of them as a baby. My, how they’ve grown.
Peace, people!
That is some spider

Studly says the guy is getting too big for its britches and will need to be transferred to a new location soon.

Spiders are endlessly fascinating. I don’t necessarily love them, but I appreciate them.

I worked with a lady who was so terrified of spiders that during the month of October when the hospital cafeteria had Halloween decorations throughout, including spiders on webs, that she completely avoided eating there.

Oh dear! One of my favorite sci-fi authors penned a book titled Children of Time in which sentient spiders are major characters. The author is an entomologists and used his expertise in the field beautifully.

Appropriate, right?

Yeah. No. I can’t promise I’d have the willpower to just let him hang out there undisturbed. You’re a stronger woman than I am.
Err…stronger person…

Ha! I’m surprised Studly has let him stay around this long, but the spider’s web is chock full of dead insects, so maybe we’ll adopt the arachnid.
