Our granddaughter, McKayla, stowed away on our return trip from Illinois. She and I were enjoying a bit of beach time at Alligator Point this morning.

We cut our trip short when lightning began streaking across the sky. We’re hoping for better luck on Friday when we head to St. George Island for the day.

Peace, people!
I am curious. I am currently spending some time on the Far North Queensland Coast where no one cares about sharks and all the warning signs are about marine stingers and crocodiles. Are wild alligators a concern there when you visit beaches and estuaries?

Apparently crocs can live in either salt or freshwater, but alligators only live in fresh water.

You guys definitely got the more innocuous lizard!!!

Absolutely. They aren’t nearly as aggressive as crocs.

I heard a story from a Cairns local about crocodiles hanging out inside the netted off swim area at a Cairns beach. Kinda concerning.
Definitely don’t swim in any creeks here.

Are there actual alligators at this point?

It wouldn’t surprise me; although, they aren’t in the water.

Hey Leslie that’s a beautiful shot and though I couldn’t see the remaining two photographs with my internet playing up, I hope you got to visit the beach again!
