Everyone has one—that movie you love, but everyone else hates. The movie that, when you tell someone you’ve watched it multiple times, on purpose, they make a face that makes their disdain clear.
Me: I’ve probably seen Napoleon Dynamite twenty times.
Then: Ew! We thought that movie was juvenile (or crude or beneath us or just awful).

Me: Can’t disagree with you there. But I love it.
But when you find another soul who also has an affinity for your awful movie it’s one of the best feelings in the world.

So what’s the movie you hate to love? I have a whole list of them, but I don’t want to influence anyone.
Peace, people!
Ha! I liked Napoleon Dynamite too. Lol It was a standard favorite with my youngest son. And I’d wind up watching it with him multiple times. My favorite silly movie that I’ve probably seen 20 times is “Overboard” with Goldie Hawn. For some reason, it always has me laughing hysterically.

Cabin in the Woods and The Evil Dead, both cheesy, although the former a little more self-aware.

Fantastic appearance from Bradley Whitford in Cabin in The Woods for any West Wing fans too.

Napoleon Dynamite is a riot! Hey–got another fun show for you on Netflix. ‘Country Comfort.’ The accents are so Southern but the little girl is a riot! I think you’d like it. We watched 3 episodes in a row last night!

The Sgt. Pepper’s movie the Bee Gee’s did. So many people hate it for so many reasons, but I adore it. Some of my favorite versions of those songs came from that movie even though Beatles fans would annihilate me for it.

Fun fact: Sean Covel (the producer) lives in Deadwood and is a personal friend of my last boss. I’ve met him (and his lovely dog) on several occasions. He even brought over a signed movie poster, which we hung in the office. Real nice guy!

Wow! You might also hand him a copy of my book and suggest it would make a fine movie. Kidding. Kind of.
