If I were a writer
I’d dredge up the dirt
The stuff that stifles dreams
And makes everyone cringe,
The grit that scours my heart.
I’d lay my soul bare
Grieve publicly
Take the blame.
Instead, I’m just a wannabe
Writing about nothing that matters
Where no one gets hurt.
Especially not me.

You are a writer, my friend. Writers write. Writers have readers. I’m looking at your stats – you have 2,197 followers. More than a lot of folks who think they are “serious writers.”

Thank you, friend. There’s a post I need to write, but I can’t. It’s too painful and too raw, and I’d be opening myself up to criticism. Am I a coward?

If you want, you can send it to me. And no, you are not a coward. You just have something important to say that is pretty scary. I know the feeling.

I’ll consider doing that. Thank you.
