Again Americans
mourn the deaths of
those lost to
gun violence.
Again politicians
offer their thoughts
and prayers and
meaningless
platitudes
whilst simultaneously
pocketing what can only be
described as
blood money
courtesy of the
National Rifle
Association.
Again mothers mourn
the loss of children
and children mourn
the loss of parents
while those
lacking in
humanity worry that
Obama’s gonna
confiscate their
fucking
guns.
Don’t talk to
me of prayers on
one hand
and praise
guns on the
other.
Your hypocrisy
is exceeded
only by your
utter lack of
compassion.
Praying for Eyebrowz 
I’ve never understood or believed the idea that the safest society is one in which everyone has a gun. I sometimes wonder if, in their heart of hearts, NRA-types really believe it either. It so obviously flies in the face of common sense. I don’t know. Perhaps they really do believe it. 😦

A great many NRA members still have common sense. They belong to the group because there are perks associated with it. But their leadership is rabid and their political lobby is so powerful that they’ve become a scary group. There’s a man on Twitter, igorvolsky who routinely tweets the amount of money various congressmen and women receive from the NRA. It’s shocking.

Completely agreed. I also saw a good Tweet which noted that if you’re someone who usually condemns gay people to an eternity in Hell, this probably is not the best time to offer your prayers and sympathies. Most of all, I’m very sad that such a tragic event happened in your state, and am sending my thoughts and condolences to all in Florida, especially those directly affected.

If only people would stop getting hung up on religiosity and their insecurities and indeed would…have fun. Our world might be a nicer place 😦
