Actually they are, but not for the reasons he is selling. The numbers are historic because it was a popular vote win by 3 million votes for a candidate who was robbed of victory by the opposing candidate who colluded with Russia in order to “win”.
As far as Flynn asking for immunity, the strategy was set long ago. Robert Keller, attorney for National Security advisor for Mike Flynn, said in November—

Today has been a perfect spring day here at Doright Manor. As I sat outside with a wee glass of wine and a good book I began hearing a pair of owls calling to each other from across the neighborhood. I snapped this photo and dare you to find the owl. I call this one, “I Promise There’s an Owl in This Photo!”
