  1. I will not be participating ever in the first two, however public speaking is something I have done. It’s not like a full-time gig or anything, but on occasion I have been known to orate in front of more than just a few folks.

  2. Parachuting? NEVER! (I’m afraid of heights).
Pole Vaulting? Not at age 73, but I so would have tried it when I was younger. (Girls weren’t allowed to even try that sport when I was young). I could high jump in high school and was pretty athletic. I would have loved a chance to try it.
Public speaking? Absolutely! I love that . As a retired educator I miss presenting lessons and speaking in front of a group.
My personal three p’s would be:persuasive, persistence, perceptive.

      1. I bet you were terrific! Just focus on one or two friendly faces who are looking at you. Forget about the rest. Because by focusing on one or two it looks like you are talking to the entire group. Those two (or three) Will usually be very responsive and you’ll relax seeing their smiles. I suggest pick someone on the left , the right, and the center. You’ll appear to be talking to everyone and before you know it you will be. Just be yourself. Your wonderful sense of humor will shine through! You’ve got this!

  3. I think when I was twenty I would have thought of them as the amazing Ps, and been very keen to participate in them all. But I seem to have mellowed in my ‘old age’, and shy away from such fearful and risky things. I wonder at that. ALTHOUGH, I think I would like to try my hand at public speaking. I would like to see if I could do it. And what it would feel like. But with public speaking, one has to have something substantial to share with the world. Like Nando Parrado, for example, who survived a plane crash in the Andes mountains and ate his fellow passengers to survive, before trekking thousands of miles through the mountains to save himself and his fellow survivors. I heard one of his public speeches and I thought, man, HE sure does have something to say!
