A baker of ill-repute, such as myself, looks for signs and omens anywhere she can while engaged in culinary endeavors. So I’m taking this heart to heart this morning as I prepare the ingredients for a single pecan pie for Studly and me to enjoy on Christmas Day. Since I literally put all my eggs into one basket, er pie, I’ll welcome all the good vibes I can get.

My motto is “as long as it tastes good…” and how wrong can you go with pecan pie? I did chocolate bark this year, the epitome of ease- unless your microwave goes crazy and your chocolate seizes. Thankfully I would say I achieved bark perfection. I bet your pie will be mighty tasty- enjoy!

It was good. The whole meal turned out perfectly. That’s a real accomplishment when I’m in charge of the meal.
