You all likely thought you’d heard the last about my completed manuscript. Bwahaha! I couldn’t let you off the hook that easily.
One of my beta readers survived the task of reading, suggesting, and editing. (That Oxford comma drives the lovely Shirley crazy, so I find excuses to use it). She’s given my book a couple of thumbs up, and as one might expect I toasted myself with a glass of wine.
Now, I’m contemplating my next steps as I await another beta reader’s thoughts.
The characters from the novel are still in my head. Sometimes I hear them begging me for another adventure. To that I retort, “You’re not even published yet! Don’t get your knickers in a twist,” or some such phrase.
For now, I’m chilling. Like always.

Encouraging news is always a good thing! And jotting down “ideas” for the next masterpiece can’t hurt either.

It was very good news. I reveled in it before I began to fret again. My fretting is different now, though. Thanks to Shirley, it’s more hopeful.

Yay! Finally getting feedback and hearing all the nice happy things about it is an amazing feeling! You might need a bigger bottle on hand, just in case. I’m certain this won’t be the only time. 😀

I’m hopefully prepared for the not so happy things, as well. I just listened to John Stewart talk about negative reviews and he made so much sense. Gotta take the bad along with the good when you put yourself out there. Right?
