Look Out Below

Underneath it all

Down where the anglerfish live

Time stands almost still

No wind, no tossed waves

Just days of isolation

And gullible prey

Below the surface

In the realms where no sun shines

Light attracts, light kills

  1. The ‘almost’ is the best use of the word ‘ever’. The whole a splendid metaphor for whatever you, or the reader, want it to be. Best thing I’ve read on this blandist of bland days by a country mile. In short, young Leslie, you nailed it.
