I always forget that I can utilize my stats page to gain some insights into which blog posts are most popular and perhaps to discern what my readers want. Apparently y’all want fake horses because this piece about a Kentucky Derby party in Hereford, Texas, was the fifth most popular post on Praying for Eyebrowz in 2019.

You know, we have partied nearly every Hogmanay except for the year I had Pneumonia . This year cos of the expense of younger babba’s wedding we never booked anything. We planned on just walking down the road and doing the pub circuit which is aye lively and we also debated heading back over the water to where we used to live. One of my cousins has opened a very nice bar and eaterie right on the beach and they were having live music and all and a fancy meal and another cousin and his wife were going but again if you don’t have a taxi booked in advance you can forget it so … at the last we just lit the fire, lit the candles, opened the vino and dined on some very nice food—the leftovers out the freezer from Xmas day. Now what about you and what are you doing today?

Oh, we went to a movie and went to bed early. I gave the husband a goodnight kiss at 10 and a kiss for good luck at 10:30. We both slept right through the fireworks in our neighborhood.

Our neighborhood is mostly retirees. We’re more likely to hear farts wafting across the water than we are to hear fireworks.

Ha ha!!!. You aye make me laugh. I think the fancypants yacht club down on the front had a big display that blew all the other ones out the water. But there was another display probably down at the castle. Anyway we had a grand view from the warmth indoors.

Aye well, telling you now you’d have gotten hypothermia down on that sea front. Been freezing here all week. One of the son in law’s foolishly did the traditional New Year dook down there yesterday. He had to be rescued back here with this glass of mulled wine that was mainly brandy afterwards. I just thought, having done all kinds of mountains in some quite bad conditions in my time… … are you daft???
