I just love Gareth’s work. He’s primarily a sci-fi writer, and that’s how I got to know his writing.

This just goes to show that great writers know how to connect with anyone poetically.
We would never have guessed that Gareth was a sci-fi writer.

He’s also written at least one detective novel with a supernatural twist, and the book from which the poem comes. I think it’s titled “On Writing.”

Even if you don’t enjoy sci-fi, give his book Embers of War a read. It’s so good.

A poem that lingers on, a rare thing. Almost biblical, yet in the form of neutral advice rather than the dogmatic command of an angry god. Yes young Leslie, this one truly does linger on. A fine post.

I think Mr. Powell, the author, lives England. He’s written some really fine science fiction novels, and at least one detective novel. He seems like a terrific guy, too.
