Some days writing posts for a daily blog is a grind. The post you’ve scheduled for publication doesn’t feel quite right, but you don’t have anything else ready so you publish it anyway, or worse yet there’s nothing in your queue and you find yourself scrounging for something, anything, to publish.
Hey, here’s an amusing picture of a pregnant pig practicing Lamaze. It’ll do!
But some days are just fun. Like today. I found several gems written by bloggers I follow. Some I reblogged and others I shared on Facebook or Twitter. My own scheduled post turned out well, and I even composed a quick on the spot piece when a flash of inspiration struck during lunch. Yes, I should have scheduled it for a future publication date, but sometimes a writer just needs instant feedback. I’ll worry about tomorrow, tomorrow.
I also fiddled with a draft of a short story that’s been in the works for awhile. Hopefully one day soon the characters will let me know what they plan to do next. Right now I’m having difficulty getting out of a fictional whorehouse. Don’t judge. It’s complicated.
Maybe the best part of a fun blogging day is the feedback, the comments, and smiley faces. Interacting with fellow bloggers whether about my own writing or theirs is often the bright spot in my day. I have some insanely witty commenters. Don’t even read my blog posts, just read the comments section. Wait, I didn’t mean that. Shhhh!!!
So, if you’re a blogger does this all sound familiar? If you tell me every day is a piece of cake I might just paste a frownie face in your comments section.
Peace, people!

Every day is self imposed…..better to be shitty than mediocre……on the short story, have some real fun and give it an O’Henry super twist at the end….back to the blog..you can always post a photo of the twins…..always a pleaser

That’s kind of the plan with the short story. Won’t be anything sweet though. As for the twins, they’re a bit camera shy.

easy? lol…………never. I often agonise over what to write, I have everything set out for what I want to cover off for the week or month ahead, but with a travel blog, it’s kind of easy………..go somewhere write about it, post a pretty picture or two. I rarely ‘write’ anymore, I have been told too many times I suck anyway!

You don’t suck! I enjoy the textual portions of your blog, but if I could photograph like you I might not write ever again.

Just keep those creative juices flowing, thats whats important. As to the whorehouse, can you really spend too much time in one? And… I didnt even know you had twins! Have I met them?

Stuck in the whorehouse? Intriguing.
They say it is better to fail in originality than to succeed in imitation 🙂

I’m trying to tie in a couple of contrasting themes.

Stuck? you post various times a day! I have trouble keeping up with once-a -week and have finally accepted every 10 days is just about my speed. Full schedules are the main reason, but also contrasting ideas. I’ve found that if I draft pieces of this or that during the week, when I go back to them I don’t like them any more and just scrap whatever. So I have to write up posts all in one go, and need at least a quiet couple of undisturbed hours. Does that sound like a strange way of going about it?

Not at all! My draft pieces might languish for months. I’ve even considered taking the older ones that aren’t going anywhere, stitching them together, and calling it “Frankenblog.”
I’ve been almost manic lately as I wean myself from wine and antidepressants. Ideas come too quickly and that’s not always a good thing. Not every idea I have should make it into a post….

So Frankenblog could be turn out to be a good idea 🙂

It would take a lot of tinkering!

With quite a number of my short drafts, specially those lurking in a hodge-podge of most unlikely notebooks, I’ve just decided right this minute to tackle them with a dejunking mindset. Thanks for the spark 🙂
