To Scale

Heart to heart
Mind over matter
Shifted priorities
Discerned differences
Follow the heart’s desire
Listen to the mind’s measure
Balance perceived risks and rewards
Everything worthwhile is weighed
Even breaths and heartbeats
Register on life’s scales
Tipping is recommended
Just a thumb on hold
Changing outcomes

  1. Follow the heart’s desire
    Listen to the mind’s measure

It’s the eternal question, I think, both for big things and for small. Take, for example, the three doughnuts I ate for my lunch today. The heart won out that time.

      1. “Listen to the stomach” is excellent advice. At this time of year in particular, I’ve very likely to listen to my stomach (as is everyone else in the immediate vicinity).
