Today in the United States of America…
love
wins this day
hatred must be
stilled,
for now,
but let’s not be
complacent
it will remain;
lurking, waiting,
around the edges
of ourhappiness
just keep tamping
on it gently
reminding hate
it has no place
here.
Peace, people!
Great laugh for a Monday morning. The first Facebook picture was cute, now it’s just silly.

Yeah, I don’t think we’re done either (although I’m celebrating!). The Roe vs. Wade ruling brought on decades of an intense pro-life movement…I have a feeling we can look forward to years of an anti-marriage equality movement. I hope I’m wrong!

I think it will be a different fight than Roe v. Wade in that an abortion cannot be undone and those opposed to it feel that they’re saving innocent lives. With marriage equality I think the opponents will put up as many roadblocks as possible, but eventually it will be accepted. But those pro-lifers are militant. I get their arguments, but it’s not for me or anyone else to step in and make a woman give birth to a child.

I do hope there will be less of a fight with marriage equality. You’re right, since there isn’t a life (or potential life) involved, it should be a different ballgame altogether.
