Hoarders

I’m watching an episode of “Hoarders, Buried Alive” on TLC and thinking random thoughts:

There are some really sad people out there.

And I thought my house was messy!

If I emptied all of my stuff and Studly’s stuff into the middle of our living room would we still be able to find floor to walk on? Should I try it?

If one has tons of books is she considered a hoarder or a bibliophile?

Why is it that many hoarders’ homes appear fairly normal from the outside

I think I should become a hoarding counselor. Or a princess.

Here are some scenes from the series:

    1. Some of them have created little nests within the stuff they’ve hoarded. One man was living in a tent outside of his home. It’s a disease. A terribly debilitating disease.

      1. Now im watching My Strange Addiction. What a crazy day this has been. First Hoarders, now im watching a woman who is addicted to smelling Pine scented cleaners and a man who is addicted to picking up roadkill and burying it.

  1. Lord help these folks!! That is wild and makes me feel a lot better about my place! I put things off sometimes but never to that extent!! I think I’m a weirdo because I get a strange satisfaction from having a clean house! I’ve been told it is from being a Virgo…..although if you could see my closet you would just shake your head!! LOL

    1. It really is sad! Most of these folks have had a major trauma in their lives–death of a child, early death of a spouse. Somehow their collections make them feel better.
