Love, come sail with me
To the edge of the known world
Where sea and sky kiss
We’ll find our true selves
‘Neath cerulean heavens
Far from earth’s safe shores
I’ll be your lighthouse
Your compass’s truest north
You’ll be my anchor.

After years of having and sailing a small sailboat I love the serenity of the sound of the waves washing past the sides of the boat. The peace on the water is invigorating. However when the wind and surf pick up a person is reminded of how conditions can change in a flash. Sounds like life and I wouldn’t want to change it, just stay the course (true north).

That’s a nice, romantic poem. (I just hope the compass shows north more accurately than the I bought as a child.)

Ha! When I read your post about magnets I remembered buying one of those cheap compasses from the variety store. I mistakenly thought it would point the direction I was walking, so I figured it was broken.

Actually, Leslie, your comment reminded me that when I did buy a real compass on a whim a few years later, north was not at all where I thought it was.
