I won’t be watching the presidential debate tonight. Living in the eastern time zone means that the event won’t begin until 9 p.m. I’ll be in bed and hopefully engrossed in book seven of Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander series by then.
It’s not that I don’t care about the debate. Quite the opposite. I care so much that I fear I’ll throw up when Trump resorts to his de rigueur raft of lies. I care so much that I know I’d never be able to fall asleep once the debate ends. So I’ve set up a recording and I’ll watch sometime tomorrow afternoon.
In the meantime I’ll be praying that Hillary shows what she’s made of: Her grit and determination. Her capacity for compassion and concern for the underserved. Her immense intelligence and extraordinary political savviness.
I’ll also pray that those who are undecided will recognize that there is really only one legitimate choice in this election. Hillary Rodham Clinton. I’m with her.
You’re going to love it! She did great!

I watched from Australia. She came across as a sterling candidate, but unfortunately his devotees will never change their minds, just as he can’t change his spots.

I agree 100% with what you wrote, and so understand your not watching – though 9 pm bedtime is pretty early by my standards 🙂 I was considering watching it live, which would have been 3 am here! Woke up worried and not daring to see what happened, but I’ll do so now, encouraged by the above comments. Oh, yes, it’s your election, but the whole world is holding its breath …

The first thing I did this morning was check NPR. Apparently Hillary crushed him. Not that this will matter to his crazy minions.

I paced the living room floor for the first 40 minutes. But then I sat down when it was apparent she was starting to hit her stride. With my laptop open to Twitter, I was able to watch and be distracted enough by what other people were tweeting to not be as nervous as I normally am during presidential debates. I don’t blame you one iota for going to bed, though.

I watched the recording this afternoon. It still made me so anxious even though Hillary clearly had him beaten by miles.
