old brother died
and who would pay
to send him on
his final way?
the cost of life
had been too dear
the cost of death
was dearer still.
oh who will come
to send him home
this man who lived
a life alone?
A trip through life with fingers crossed and eternal optimism.
Doing the best I can with what I have
kind of sad, but not so bad with cheese. cheese not provided.

Do you go by Nan? This is a great piece! My work schedule changed this week and I haven’t found time to laugh yet. May I reblog this over the weekend instead of a humorous piece?

Yes, this one needs to go forth. It’s based in truth. My mother-in-law’s youngest brother recently passed away. He’d lived off the grid except for the times he spent in jail.

Why don’t you help me do something with this, Mr. Rance?

Leslie writes on a number of subjects. I continually enjoy reading her daily perspectives. I thought this a poignant and stirring piece of poetry. I hope others will be moved as well.
