You swept my soul clean
digging into the corners
with an old straw broom.
splintered handle held
in calloused, gentle fingers
moving dust around.
motes travel quickly
swirling faeries in sunlight
each a piece of me.

A trip through life with fingers crossed and eternal optimism.
Doing the best I can with what I have
kind of sad, but not so bad with cheese. cheese not provided.

Thank you. I think it might be the best poem I’ve written.
