Is This My Country?

Thugs, egged on by the sitting President of the United States, are storming the U.S. Capitol as I sit watching in utter disbelief. They have placed elected officials and others in grave danger in an attempt to overthrow the results of the election.

The House and Senate have been evacuated stopping the electoral vote count. I sincerely hope they face consequences for attempting to subvert the democratic process.

It’s a sad day for my country.

Peace, please, people.

  1. Today was devastating. These are not protesters they are terrorists and criminals who came with purposeful intent to destroy property, hurt people, and undermine democracy. Shame on them and shame on the current President for encouraging armed citizens to break the law. Most came dressed for war. It is time to evoke amendment 25 and remove Donald Trump and let Pence stand in until Biden is sworn in.

  2. I was in shock when this unfolded. Total shock. I am very concerned that he will feel empowered and do even worse in the last 11 and a half days. I viewed his election four years ago with dread, but he has way surpassed anything I could have ever imagined in 2016.
