Today marks the 43rd year of my marriage to Studly Doright. Guess who forgot? Not Studly.
He called me early Tuesday morning on his way home from Orlando, and in response to my “hello,” he said, “happy anniversary,” prompting a quick glance at my calendar. Sure enough, July 30. Well, how about that.
Up until today I’d never forgotten the date of the day we said “I do” in a small Baptist church in Dumas, Texas. After 43 years maybe he’ll cut me some slack.
Time sure flies when you’re married to your best friend.
Peace, people.
Congratulations! 43 years is an awesome feat. Even if I add up my two marriages I still don’t total 43 years! So good going for you for finding the right guy and making it work. That is not an easy task. Have a very Happy Anniversary you two! How lucky to have found your soulmate! ❤️

Happy anniversary! I might make it to 43 years if I don’t kill him first. 😀 Just kidding. He’s okay most of the time, plus I need somebody to get the spiders.

We went to a nice restaurant this evening. He’s leaving on his motorcycle on Wednesday, and I’m flying out to join him in Texas on Friday. It’s a big family reunion, so not much couples time. That’s ok—I get to see my kids and 4 of the 5 grandkids. Have fun in the hills!

Well we would have seen out family but it is midweek and not very feasible for them. But the Mr. surprised me months ago by booking this in our fav place after grumphing about how the cost of the Clachaic had rocketted. Having a day in Arisaig first. Talk aboot pushing the boat out. You enjoy your meal, you awesome couple.

Sounds dreamy! Even the names of the places make me swoon. In Texas I’ll be going to the exotic sounding town of Hereford. We don’t pronounce it as they do in England. No, here it is Her-Ford. Like a blooming car that belongs to some chick.

Happy Anniversay! That’s great. We’re having our 24th soon, but we always count the years we were “livin’ in sin” too, so it’s going to be about 29. Scary how fast it goes.

Thank you! And that’s kind of cool that your spouse remembers and you don’t. I feel like I’ve had to be a nag of sorts, reminding the hubby as the date approaches. This year, I wasn’t a nag. Yay! Of course, if I’d remembered I’d probably have been one. 🤣

I’m late, but happy anniversary. You’ve got one year on us–and the before and after pictures are both gorgeous.

Thanks! Anything over 25 years is laudatory, don’t you think?
