The leading edge would
Have us jumping at each flash
Of tensile lightning
Flinching at thunder
Cowering ‘neath the covers
Yearning for a pause
Rumbles grow distant
Downpour tapers to sprinkles
This storm fades away

I’m always fascinated by the flow and rhythm of a storm–The light and sound parade that precedes the rainfall, the tapering off of rain followed by an encore of the opening chorus. I get chills when I get to be a witness to the greatest concert on earth.
During an intermission of the storm I’m watching a small turtle make its way across my yard.
Looks like he/she has an appointment.
Peace, people
Yes…nature is humbling…. except for Trump …..he looked dead into the sun after being warned it could blind you

How he’s lived this many years is a mystery. That physique, those bad eating habits, that inability to learn.

Lovely photo’s, that turtle looks as though it has somewhere to be racing along like that.

He would stop now and again and look up at the sky like, “Really? It’s still raining?” and then carry on.

the greatest concert on earth! What a way to describe it, wow! Truer words never rang so well in my ears. Also, don’t you think the world looks so CLEAN, somehow, after a jolly good thunderstorm?

I do love how the world smells and feels right after a good storm. Of course here in Florida, the sticky humidity soon follows and one feels like a slug!

I love your poetic and colourful description of a thunderstorm. Wish we had this kind of displays. For some reason it doesn’t happen in Ireland. The turtle video is amusing 🙂

We’re on vacation in Tennessee and on Friday night a storm woke me up—not from the sound of thunder, but from the crazy lightning. It was amazing.
