We adopted our precious cat, Scout, after Hurricane Charley in 2004. We lived in Melbourne, Florida, at the time, and Scout along with her brother had been found wandering alone once the storm passed through our area. I wrote a story about her adoption, and it never fails to make me cry. That’s like laughing at one’s own joke, I suppose.

Scout is now around fourteen years old. She’s still playful and likes to play fetch. She sleeps more than she once did, but she’s still a sweet cat who loves to snuggle. Some day we’ll have to say goodbye to our Scout, but we hope we’ll be graced with her presence for many more years.
I found her snoozing on a fresh from the dryer towel one afternoon. That’s my girl.

Me, too. I have the most comfortable bed in the world and can never find the right position. Cats are like, “ooh, I’ll make a nice resting spot on that grating over there.”

I know! My cat finds the oddest spots, and I look at her little face and it’s just sheer contentment

I am actually very badly allergic to cats. Seriously allergic. And of course….. out of any room of copious amounts of people, who do they just love to come and try to make themselves comfortable on???

oh yeah. Hell but they do. I think they think I am one of them and they are probably right xxx ( I base that round the fact that also folks go..my cat NEVER does this….. why is my cat wanting to sit/ get into your bag,,,,, my cat is not even sociable but wow it likes you
..etc etc. Thing is I love cats but I can’t touch them but they kind of regard me as one of them.It is quite interesting between me and cats.
